Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:

• thoroughly describe different theoretical arguments related to occupation.

• critically analyse and compare theories, frames of reference, and models in occupational therapy and occupational science
• critically argue for the consequences of applying theories, frames of reference, and models in occupational therapy and occupational science in own practical work or area of interest
• critically discuss the origin and development of occupational therapy and occupational science
• thoroughly analyse and argue for the significance of occupations to humans and occupational rights from individual, group, societal and global perspectives
• argue for own conclusions based on different theoretical arguments related to occupation
• show clarity and logic in disposition and linguistic stringency and apply relevant terminology in written documentation.

• critically review theoretical arguments related to occupation and evaluate their usability within different areas of occupational therapy practice
• critically review and evaluate own achievements, and identify what one needs to develop with respect to theories, theoretical argumentation, and application to practice.

The course is implemented through a web-based course and consists of online lectures and seminars.

Kandidatexamen i arbetsterapi eller arbetsterapeutexamen, 180 hp, eller motsvarande.

Kursen bedöms med betygen A, B, C, D, E, FX eller F.

The course is examined through participation in a seminar, a critical review of a fellow classmate’s report, written pair or group report, and an individually written reflection paper.

An assistant professor serves as examiner for the course.
