Lärandemål
Upon completion of the course the student should have the ability to:
Kunskap och förståelse
- plan and use different research methods relevant when conducting research with and about children/adolescents
- explain the similarities between gathering data in clinical work and in research.
Färdighet och förmåga
- independently plan and carry out a data collection where children/adolescents are informants
- independently analyze qualitative data collected from children/adolescents.
Värderingsförmåga och förhållningssätt
- critically reflect over and use an ethically sound approach in research involving children/adolescents
- critically reflect over the researchers own approach in relation to collecting data from children/adolescents as well as when analyzing the data
- critically reflect over aspects of trustworthiness when children/adolescents are informants
- critically reflect over aspects of trustworthiness when proxy persons (e.g. parents, teachers, health care professionals) are informants
- critically reflect validity and reliability aspects when designing a questionnaire.

Undervisningsformer
The course includes on-line lectures, individual and group work, and mandatory seminars on campus.
Undervisningen bedrivs på engelska.
Förkunskapskrav
Kandidatexamen eller yrkesexamen om minst 180 hp inklusive examensarbete inom vård och hälsovetenskap, beteendevetenskap, socialt arbete eller utbildningsvetenskap. Dessutom krävs minst 45 hp på avancerad nivå inklusive examensarbete inom områdena för kravet för kandidatexamen.

Kursen bedöms med betygen A, B, C, D, E, FX eller F.
The course is examined in the form of one individual written examination and seminars.
Associate Professor serves as the course examiner.
