Lärandemål
Upon completion of the course students should have the ability to:
Kunskap och förståelse
- describe children’s biopsychosocial development
- describe health and failing health in children and its impact on families
- identify signs that indicate that children are at risk of harm
- describe children’s need of nursing when in failing health in relation to co-production nursing in children and families.
Färdighet och förmåga
- apply a caring approach and, with the aim of supporting and strengthening health and alleviating suffering by demonstrate communicative skills when talking with children and families.
Värderingsförmåga och förhållningssätt
- reflect on own values and approach as well as on care environments in meetings with children and families
- reflect on children’s and families’ prospects for health in a global perspective.

Undervisningsformer
The course is implemented through lectures, seminars and study assignments.
Undervisningen bedrivs på engelska.
Förkunskapskrav
Grundläggande behörighet samt avslutade kurser inom sjuksköterskeprogrammets termin 1 och 2 eller motsvarande kunskaper. Vidare krävs genomgångna kurser i termin 3 inom sjuksköterskeprogrammet eller motsvarande kunskaper.
Examination och betyg
Kursen bedöms med betygen A, B, C, D, E, FX eller F.
Examination will be based upon written individual examination, seminars and written assignments.
A university lecturer serves as examiner for the course.
Poängregistrering av examinationen för kursen sker enligt följande system:
