Upon completion of the course, the student should have the ability to:

- explain health and determinants of health from individual, group and societal perspectives at national and global levels
- describe, from a life course perspective, the impact of environment and lifestyle on health.
Färdighet och förmåga
- argue why environmental resources, obstacles and risks impact on human health
- apply theories and concepts relevant to health-promotion in nursing
- relate national goals of public health to the global sustainable development goals.
Värderingsförmåga och förhållningssätt
- reflect on how nurses attitudes and societal, values and approaches affect prospects for health.

Undervisningsformer
The course is implemented through lectures, seminars and study assignments.
Undervisningen bedrivs på engelska.
Förkunskapskrav
Grundläggande behörighet samt avslutade kurser om minst 30 hp inom omvårdnad.
Examination och betyg
Kursen bedöms med betygen A, B, C, D, E, FX eller F.
Examination will be based upon seminars and written assignments.
A university senior lecturer serves as examiner for the course.
