On completion of this course, student should be able to

• demonstrate advanced knowledge in the field of child interventions.

• identify research problems and formulate research question(s) in relation to interventions in childhood
• design and carry out a systematic/scoping literature review
• analyze data and interpret the results in relation to childhood intervention theory
• reflect on the connection between theory and empirical research in the field of interventions in childhood
• present the scientific results orally and in writing and argue for its validity
• critically review research on interventions in childhood.

• discuss and critically reflect on the methods used and its relevance related to the research problems
• critically review and discuss another student’s thesis and argue for its strengths and weaknesses.

The applicant must hold the minimum of a bachelor’s degree (i.e. the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits at an accredited university) within health and caring sciences, behavioral science, social work, disability research, or educational sciences, including independent, theoretical based work- i.e. a thesis or equivalent. Proof of English proficiency is required.

Examination of the course will be based upon one individual written thesis including an oral defense of the thesis and one oral opposition to another student thesis.
