- principles of quantitative research design in relation to internal and external validity, statistical validity, and concept validity
- critical evaluation of research studies in relation to design throughout the research process.
- co-design and co-production in research design
- mixed methods

Type of instruction

The course is comprised of lectures and seminars. The course is a web-based course.

The teaching is conducted in English.

Prerequisites

To be enrolled in the course the student should have 240 credits, 60 of which should be at the advanced level, including a thesis of 15 credits (or the equivalent).

Examination and grades

The course is graded Fail (U) or Pass (G).

The course examination is comprised of individually written papers and seminars. The course examiner is an associate professor or professor.

Course evaluation

The course coordinator collates and comments on the evaluation before submitting it to the Board of Research Education at the Research School of Health and Welfare at School of Health and Welfare.

4. Other applicants: admission based on the number of credits (the applicants will be selected randomly in the case of equal merits).
