On completion of the course, the student should

Knowledge and understanding

- demonstrate knowledge of color schemes , color schemes and product graphics
- demonstrate knowledge of design from a historical perspective
- demonstrate knowledge of different modeling techniques and fotorenderinger digital models
- demonstrate knowledge of various ways to produce physical models and prototypes
- demonstrate an understanding of different ways of visualizing product suggestions
- demonstrate understanding of shape and form problems
- demonstrate an understanding of how to present and communicate designs orally and in writing

Skills and abilities

- demonstrate ability and skill , without supervision , sketch and illustrate product suggestions.
- demonstrate skills in oral and written communication
- demonstrate the ability to give shape proposals and solve form problems
- demonstrate the ability , without supervision, build and coloring physical models
- demonstrate skills , but mentoring, modeling and rendering digital models .

Contents

The course includes the mixture of theoretical and practical elements. Focus of the course is to give students the ability to visualize your design through sketches, illustrations, rendered images and physical models.

The course includes the following topics:

- Morphology
- Imaging
- Model Technique
- Aesthetics
- Design Methodology
- Product Methodology
- Sketching
- CAD
- Rhetoric and Communication
The teaching is conducted in English.

Prerequisites

Passed courses 180 credits in first cycle, at least 90 credits within the major subject Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering (with relevant courses in construction and design), and 15 credits Mathematics. In addition, completed course Design Communication 1, 9 credits and English Language requirements corresponding to English 6 or English B in the Swedish upper secondary school (or the equivalent).

Examination and grades

The course is graded 5,4,3 or Fail.

The grade is weighted from the results of the Assignments and the Individual Project Work. Passed grade for all tests are required.
