On completion of the course, the student should

Knowledge and understanding

- be aware of the most common compression techniques and its properties.
- demonstrate knowledge of analog and digital formats in postproduction.
- demonstrate an understanding of basic camera techniques and camera theory.
- demonstrate an understanding of finance and costing for benefit analysis of projects of services industry.

Skills and abilities

- demonstrate skills of selecting and applying methods and techniques for color correction from specification.
- demonstrate the ability of choosing the compression method and produce sequences based on different specifications to delivery.

Contents

The course covers camera techniques and camera theory linked to the production of CGI
sequences. Basic format and compression knowledge provides a foundation for efficient workflow in postproduction chain. The course also covers the economy and costing of CGI projects.
