On completion of the course, the student should

- demonstrate knowledge of standard production organization, workflow and techniques of rotoscoping, cleanup and patch compositing
- show understanding of different combinations of projections, corner pinning and warping to remove objects and reconstruct backgrounds.

- demonstrate skills in creating rotos for a variety of objects, from organic shapes with a high level of detail, to non organic shapes and complex shapes with high deformation, such as hair.
- demonstrate skills to follow an objects shape in situations where the silhouette is not clearly definable due to motion blur and / or out of focus.
- demonstrate skills in creating clean plates and patches for the cleanup process
- demonstrate the ability to remove items from a plate and reconstruct the background by using the cleanup techniques and patch compositing

The course includes advanced knowledge in rotoscoping, cleanup and patch compositing and its workflow, technology and tools.

The course contains the following elements:
- Rotoscoping of motionless objects, organic deformable objects and complex shapes (ie hair)
- Rotoscoping of items out of focus and / or with motion blur
- Advantages and disadvantages of different types of roto splines
- Structure, naming and combination of different forms of complex roto.
- Recover edge details by edge extension
- Create clean plates
- Tracking for rotoscoping
- Tracking for patch compositing
- Cleanup through 3D projections and patch compositing

The teaching is conducted in English.

General entry requirements and completion of the course Compositing I, 9 credits (or the equivalent).

The course is graded 5,4,3 or Fail.
