On completion of the course, the student should be able to:

-Analyse content and language used in scientific articles, reports, instructions or manuals and then present their findings

Contents

The course provides opportunities for the student to develop oral and written proficiency in English. The course includes text analysis.
The course includes the following topics:
-Written proficiency
-Oral proficiency
-Presentations
-Text analysis of scientific articles, instructions, reports or manuals

Type of instruction

The course contains lectures, exercises and seminars.

The teaching is conducted in English.

Prerequisites

General entry requirements and English B, Matematics C, Civics A. Or: Mathematics 3b/3c, Civics 1b/1a1 + 1a2. Exemption from entry requirements in English B and Civics A. Or: Civics 1b/1a1 + 1a2 (or the equivalent).

Examination and grades

The course is graded 5,4,3 or Fail.

The grade is weighted from the results of the Assignments and the Project Work. Passed grade for all tests are required.
